Squad Swimming

For the child who is hoping to be a competitive swimmer or a proficient recreational swimmer, the coaches in our swim squad programme provide advanced stroke correction and technique advice so swimmers of all ages can reach personal goals and achieve fitness results.

Squads are great way to stay fit and healthy in the pool and offer a progressive pathway from our swimming lessons. We create a team environment that brings everyone together and puts the fun back into swimming.

Junior Development Squad (JDS)

Joining our squad at junior level offers young swimmers an opportunity to develop their competitive strokes in preparation for school carnivals, local events and non-competitive swim meets. We aim to build a sound base of strength and fitness. JDS starts with breaststroke and butterfly as these are the strokes that will help you find your centre of gravity and balance.

The aim of the JDS Squad is improve:

  • Stroke technique
  • Physical fitness

Competition Development Squad (CDS)

The CDS squad caters for children who would like to further develop their swimming abilities in a friendly and competitive environment (like Club Nights). The CDS program provides junior swimmers with an introduction to competition squads and will produce swimmers capable of swimming competitively in all four strokes.

The aim of the CDS squad is to:-

  • Stroke technique
  • Develop a high level of co-ordination, balance and flexibility.

Competitive Elite Development Squad (CEDS)

The CEDS squad works to produce swimmers that are capable of participating in high level competitions. CEDS will be a squad which will travel and compete in local, regional, and national swim meets. There are no set speed criteria to enter CEDS, but swimmers will be given a trial prior to joining to show that they have the commitment and the passion for achievement.
